Humans have been theorizing about how to improve private life, society and humankind's relationship to the wild world since the advent of abstract thought. The Ecotopian Library aims to bridge the imaginary to physical reality. This section contains artwork, books, creative tools and poetry that emphasize ecological considerations, aspirational utopian space, critique of utopias, and philosophical efforts to synthesize the larger environment with humankind. Some references may seem utopian by virtue of having almost already disappeared from this planet. By examining the imaginative work of futurists we can begin interacting with the library from a space of possibility. A selection of books in this section were chosen from reading lists provided by writer Jason Chan and artist Beth Osnes.
