The books and materials in this section present several ways to understand the concept of commons. They emphasize the historical withering away of the physical commons and their occasional protection. This section includes doctrines on the rights of nature and manifestos regarding the responsibility of humankind. Visitors will find material on land trusts, soil and seed use, and alternative forms of exchange that challenge trends in privatization.
